In a landmark handover ceremony at Letlhakane Secondary School, MASCOM donated a comprehensive technology infrastructure package valued at P5.6 million to the Education Infrastructure and Management Company (EIMC), comprising solar-powered micro-grids, fiber-optic connectivity installations, and a pre-fabricated server room to power the school’s digital learning platform. Beyond the hardware, MASCOM enriched the donation with a critical skills transfer component—a six-week intensive “Green Energy & Network Management” boot camp for 15 EIMC technicians—ensuring that the parastatal gains the internal capacity to independently maintain and replicate these systems across other rural schools. This strategic donation not only resolves EIMC’s immediate infrastructure bottlenecks but also establishes a sustainable model for bridging the digital divide in Botswana’s education sector.
