Our Story
Education Infrastructure and Management Company

The Education Infrastructure Management Company (EIMC) was created as part of a bold national transformation agenda to reimagine and modernise Botswana’s education infrastructure system. Following Government approval in December 2025, EIMC was incorporated under the Companies Act as a public company wholly owned by the Government of Botswana under the Ministry of Child Welfare & Basic Education. This marked the beginning of a new era in the delivery, maintenance, and digital evolution of public school facilities nationwide.
EIMC was established to respond to long standing infrastructure challenges within the education sector, aging facilities, overcrowded classrooms, fragmented maintenance systems, and limited integration of digital technologies. Government recognised the need for a specialised, centralized institution capable of managing education infrastructure with professionalism, efficiency, and long term sustainability. Through Cabinet directives and formal policy decisions, EIMC was entrusted with a clear and ambitious mandate: to transform, modernise, and maintain school infrastructure across its entire lifecycle.

From upgrading facilities to deploying smart school technologies and professionalizing facilities management, EIMC is building the foundation for a future ready education ecosystem.
Today, EIMC operates as a central delivery institution that works collaboratively with Government, communities, and education stakeholders to ensure every public school is safe, functional, inclusive, and technologically equipped. Our journey is one of nation building—strengthening the infrastructure that supports learners, empowers teachers, and advances Botswana’s vision for a globally competitive education system.
